Art + Music + Velocity: Christian Awe creates the cover for Mercedes-Benz Mixed Tape Music

mb! By Mercedes-Benz is a magazine that documents and reflects contemporary culture and a clever, fun way of living through personal and intelligent stories, reports and interviews as well as inspiring visuals reflecting the current Zeitgeist. Through the mb! Mix tapes and the avant garde diaries, mb! offers a slice of inspiration from behind the scenes of interesting events and through showcasing the lives of creative people and their work. In May 2012, the Mercedes-Benz Mixed Tape edition Vision Diamond – selected Artist Christian Awe to create the cover for the new mb mixtape. The compilation is dedicated to Mercedes-Benz latest luxury showcar – the Viano VISION DIAMOND. For this project, Christian and his team worked closely with mb! to create a work of art to represent the music featured on this mix tape as well as the vehicle for which it was initiated. The resulting work of art is characterised by strong shapes, luminous shades and almost psychedelic explosions of colour which were inspired by mind-expanding explorations to reflect the varied mix of musicians presented on the associated compilation. This project is a typical example of Christian and his team working with a corporate partner and the creative industries to connect art, lifestyle and music in order to inspire!
